Frozen Windmills

Standing watch in the field once green

Cloaked in fog

Waiting for the winter winds

Arms stretched wide, ready for action

Tools of the future

Patient for their time to shine

Marking the separation of power

Protectors of the small towns

Bringing both delight and despair

  1. I love the imagery! I think I’ve said that before about your poetry. I also feel a sense of unhurried-ness here. Not that windmills don’t work, but they don’t strive. They *are* ready for action – to do what they were designed for.
