A familiar place with old memories

Sounds of aircraft break the white noise of traffic

Clear reminders of my actual location

My mind is elsewhere

Deep inside the creative, thought lost after recent experiences

Sirens break my focus

The clouds refuse the sun passage to the ground

The difference in mindset is startling

The tree limbs sway in the soft breeze

The storm approaches

I find myself in a peaceful state

A new sensation as of late

The sign reads “Emergency Exit”

I’m actually safer inside, with maybe one exception

It may not look it, but I am happy

My faith keeps me grounded

New experiences open the door

There is no invitation

I pass through the threshold

I have arrived

Bringing what I learned in Florida to the great state of Illinois as I continue my journey. After almost 30 years in Florida, I decided it was time for a change of scenery. I have always loved speaking about the big issues. My blog posts are a way to express my uninterrupted thoughts of the issue. I love science, math, technology, yet enjoy the challenge of free verse poetry and examining the world critically.
