    The past week has been an array of tasks in my personal life.  As a Digital Native, I complete most of these online on a regular basis.  I also would consider myself an advocate for using the power of technology in everyday life.  An easy example is taking online classes for college credit.  Why fight traffic, wait for a campus shuttle, wade through massive hallways, only to arrive in a classroom for 90 minutes?  Why not wake up late, eat breakfast, and complete your learning in your PJs?  I’ll tell you why!  (Pick me!)  After your leisurely homework session, you…

    Sense of Wonder

    Wonder is one of those abstract ideas that only comes up when describing children or “The Great Thinkers” of history. In my experience of working with children over the years, I have observed amazing young minds at work. The curiosity of a child never ceases. I once had a conversation with a 10-year-old about number systems. He was able to take the conceptual leap from Base Ten system and expand that to strange examples, such as Base Four.     Reflections of a Futurist

    In this modern world we live, most things are attainable very easily. Even in the poorest sections of Earth, basic cell-phones are used, when the next person doesn’t have electricity. I was recently reading a NASA article about a satellite taking photos of the Mars surface for the last 11 years and is still going strong. Obviously, this fact is an amazing engineering feat, but I am more interested in the social or cultural mindset this brings to light.
