Emotional Frostbite

The constant change is all around
Except the snow that’s on the ground
Each day the same inside my home
All I want to do is roam

More people sick than I can count
The numbers always seem to mount
And so I hide behind my walls
No one to see, no one to call

I build a world inside a game
Virtual love and loss and fame
I read a book for all the same reasons
Will this last another season?

Yet soon I’ll make a daring move
To brave the storm with something to prove
A land of old friends and old family to see
What will they think of what’s become of me?

The Future unknown with hope in my eyes
A new year is upon us, not much a surprise
New hardware just launched into wide open Space
Exploring the universe puts a smile on my face
